Shimokita Peninsula

Adam and I did a roadtrip around the northern most part of Japan’s mainland. We didn’t really have a plan. We set up a bed in the van, packed a cooler and some camping gear and hit the road. We explored the town of Oma then headed down the west coast to a campground. In the morning we stopped to see the Hotokegaura rock formations. We could hear screaming in the distance and knew it had to be the wild monkeys. Not even a mile away, they were all just hanging out in the road and along the treeline. It was on my bucket list to see them so I can check that off my list. We discovered some cool spots that we want to go back and hike with the girls. We ended the trip with a walk along the beach. Adam found a large glass float, which was on his bucket list so I would say it was a successful trip.
