Christmas tree 2018

We got our Christmas tree last weekend, it was hard to be in the Christmas mood when it was in the 70's here in Texas. We wanted to get a cypress tree at a different farm this year but the pines at Pipe Creek Tree farm are much cheaper. They don't look like much but once you get it in the house and decorated they aren't too bad.

I try to make new ornaments every year just to change it up. Last year we did salt dough, but this year I wanted to be able to paint them so we used air dry clay. It took them a couple days to dry but they gave us a nice smooth surface for painting. The best part is that we were able to use watercolors on them, which is my paint of choice,  but it also saves my furniture, paintbrushes, and the kids clothes from getting ruined.
