Strawberry Pickin'

Yesterday I took the girls to pick erdbeeren. We drive by the field in Landstuhl almost everyday and they have been asking me for about a month now if it was time to pick strawberries.  I would say it's their favorite fruit, when I buy them at the store they don't last till the end of that day!
The prices weren't bad, there is a picture below.  We filled up 2 containers and paid €5.  The lady working wasn't too happy we didn't bring our own container so next time I'll be sure to bring a small bucket or something.
I explained to the girls only pick the ripe, red ones, not the white or green ones.  They did very good but Gracelyn would ask me if every strawberry she picked was ripe lol.  It was so hot in that field, next time I will wait for a cloudy, not so hot day, poor Gracelyn gets so red and sweaty out in the hot sun.  They loved it though, we sat down under a tree after we paid for them and ate a few....until they started screaming "BUGS!" lol they had sat down on an ant hill.  Luckily the ants here aren't like the red ants in MS, they are just black ants and wanted to have a taste of the juicy strawberries :)
