Happy Anniversary

I know you are all dying to hear about our awesome time at the spa!  It was amazing :)  Adam has never surprised me with anything so romantic so it was great.  We left the girls with our good friends, the Gomez's, on Friday and headed for Baden-Baden.  It was about an hour and 45 min because of construction.  When we got there parking was super easy to find just down the street from the hotel and the garage was practically empty.  Our hotel was awesome!  They let us check in almost 4 hours before check in and upgraded us to a deluxe suite.  Biggest room I've seen in Europe!

We dropped our bags off, had a glass of wine and headed to Friedrichsbad.  I was super nervous!  First off I had never been to a spa and second I am not comfortable with walking around in the nude.  Adam convinced me I would be fine, but I thought there is no way I will be relaxed.  We went with the Lux treatment and they have different stations you go to.  You get a towel in your locker to cover up with so I was fine but as soon as you walk into the showers you bare yourself.  Ummm, ok, I can do this! lol  There werent many people and they were all old and far from perfect shape.  Once I got passed that initial awkward feeling I was fine.  The workers there were super friendly and very helpful.  They explained the process and helped us along the way.  There were 17 steps all together and if you look at the website it shows you each one.  The place was gorgeous, it had the high ceilings with sculptures, tiles, columns, you have to look at some of the pictures on their site, it was just awesome.  Greatest experience ever!  I felt amazing, clean, and refreshed.  I need to go back once a week!
After the spa we went to the walkplatz for some food.  Since it was about 2pm some places were closed but we found a restaurant that was still serving food.  It was a great choice because the food was amazing and the prices were affordable.  Highly recommend this restaurant.
Since our hotel was located right next to all the spas we decided to check out the Caracalla as well.  They have both nude and swimsuit areas.  So we put on our suits at the hotel and covered up with the robes they provided and headed to the underground tunnel which had access to the 4 spas of the Carasana Oasis.  At the Caracalla you pay by the hour.  Our hotel gave us coupons for a free hour so we paid for the minimum 2 hours and got the 3rd free.  There were no steps so you were free to go to whatever you pleased.  Downstairs had a big pool indoor and out with jacuzzis, cold water, heated water, and some different water spouts.  There was a steam room and sauna that we seen.  Upstairs was the nude area where they had steam rooms, saunas and pools, some were even in outdoor houses.  I was not impressed.  It wasn't half as nice and relaxing as the Freidrichsbad.  And for some reason the spas didn't serve alcohol, and we were hoping to just sip some wine by the pool but all the drinks were alcohol free :/  We just hung out in the pool the whole time and left about a half hour early to go eat dinner at Garibaldi's, which was also delicious.   It was an awesome day, Adam couldn't have planned it better.

Saturday we checked out of our hotel in the morning and went to Europa Park.  We both love roller-coasters so it was a fun day.  We spent half of the day waiting in lines but it was worth it.  We were ready to get back home around 3pm so we came back and ended the day at a get-together at our friend's house.  The girls were having too much fun playing to even care that we were back.  It was nice having a couple days kid free but we missed them.  Of course reality set in today after dealing with the fighting and arguing they have been doing and I am wishing I was back at the spa lol.
