Sunshine Pumpkin Patch
Weekend before last we went to a local farm that does tours, sells goodies like brats, cakes, pumpkin soup, and cider, and also sells pumpkins. Last year the girls didnt like it so much, Gracelyn couldnt get past the smell. This time she was in a much better mood and didnt mind it...as you can see she had a lot of fun. They had a brand new self serve milk machine this year that is open 24/7. You just put in a euro and push the button to get your bottle of fresh milk :) I think its still pasteurized, it didnt seem to taste raw, but I dont think the Germans put their milk through the same process Americans do. I was pretty intrigued by the automatic milking machine they have for the cows. When they come into the barn it registers if the cow has been milked within so many hours, if not it automatically hooks up and milks the cow, much different than the milking process I remember my father doing! When it came time to pick out pumpkins Gracie wanted a perfect pumpkin, there were several nice, round ones, but if they were dirty forget it lol. It took us a little while to convince her that there were no "perfect" pumpkins and that the one she picked out could be washed into a "perfect pumpkin".
